Sankalp offers you or your group a life-changing volunteer work opportunities in India by way of interaction with local communities through customized work experiences, cultural activities, and home like stay. The organization provides low cost gap year and volunteering India opportunities throughout the globe to unite on a common platform to share their experiences and skills. We enrich them with real grass root level experiences through working with vulnerable groups of children and women in India. The abroad volunteer will share their skills to develop sustainable means for the community while volunteer work with them.

We also provide some travel combined volunteer programs to promote a deeper level of cultural exchange and understanding through meaningful volunteer work, social and cultural activities with the local community including action-packed adventure tours.

Volunteer work in India

All volunteering program destinations has diverse customs, culture, climate and layouts with unique geographical conditions for volunteer in India as well as a different accommodation setup according to the culture and tradition of that particular area. While working on volunteer project at these locations; volunteers will encounter the natural and scenic beauties of these places along with that they will also get an opportunity to experience the culture and traditions and get explored to real life of incredible India very closely.

Help build a school for street kids

The Street to School Project project has been working towards building a school that offers free education to all children. This project is aimed at the children of lower class families that do not have the means to acquire better education for their children. Currently, Sankalp is renting a building for educational purposes in Jaipur, India. In this area, there are more than two hundred children of various ages that are not enrolled in school. Due to their extreme poverty, the parents are not capable of sending their children to school. Their families are in such great threat of hunger and starvation, that many parents engage their children in work by collecting recyclable materials from the garbage thrown out by the public in order to get by. Sankalp has encouraged these parents to bring their children to our school in order for these children to gain an education and develop their potential.

Currently Sankalp is renting a small building that can only accommodate 30 students. It is due to the size of the building that the organization hopes to raise the money necessary in order to purchase a larger building and furnishings, so that the students have a school that is conducive to learning in order to give them the best opportunity for success.

We are social..

I really enjoyed the summer program experience in Jaipur. Sankalp not only provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for volunteers but also a safe and friendly home. I love teaching the kids and I love it more when they learned something new from me. The street program is very meaningful in my point of view because these children, just as any other children in any country deserve a chance to learn. Without this chance, their life can hardly be improved. This is not y first time being in a volunteering – teaching tour, and as always these experiences allow me to realize how much I already have and how lucky I am comparing these kids. This program is a part of my teenage life, giving me a chance to understand about this world and also myself. I can’t believe tow weeks have passed so quickly. The most satisfying experience will be the progress my two maths students have made. From a stage when they barely understand the concept of division to now, they are able to do even up to 8 digit number divisions.  People are very nice. The children are so cute. Accommodation and food was really very good. I actually like the fact that no a/c is provided during the day time, it made me feel proud to live an environmental friendly life. I love Sankalp staff members, so nice, so passionate. Definitely I will recommend to others.
