India Volunteer Programs: 1-52 weeks

The rigid social customs are the main source of orphanage creation. The carnal appetite is a natural phenomenon of living beings. Not getting the right match at right time for a girl or a boy lacking sex education promotes illicit relations between opposite sex. Such illicit relations give birth to a child not lawfully acceptable to society. Secondly, if a girl is raped against her will also produces a child not acceptable to society. Some time a child borne with certain mental or physical disabilities is also not acceptable to parents. All such off-springs are mercilessly thrown at doorsteps of orphanage. Since all such children are creation of God and are a part of this universe, they deserve similar love, affection and proper care as our own children do. Therefore we take the help of international volunteers to assist the orphanage staff in discharge of their duties. This serves the dual purpose; one- the children get much of love, affection, right care and another- more and more lovers of mankind are accumulated.

A day in the life of a volunteer
On working days, volunteers usually get up and have breakfast before leaving for their Volunteer Placements. Our staff will provide transportation to and from your Volunteer Placement if required. You will probably spend about four hours at your Volunteer Placement. Evenings will be filled with opportunities to learn about the local culture and customs, field trips to places of local interest, discussions with experts on local issues and others. Evening meal-times provide another exciting chance to enjoy authentic food provided by host family/our staff cooks. The food is delicious and healthy and takes full advantage of local cooking traditions. The evenings and weekends are free time, to relax or explore the local area. Volunteers often travel to other parts of the country at weekends, and the staff who are all from the local area themselves, are always happy to make recommendations. 

The activities you’ll be doing
Help with bathing and dressing the children
Help with feeding the children – especially the babies and mentally challenge
Nursing and caring for the children
Organizing and facilitating games and plays for the children
Educating the children about personal and environmental hygiene
Help in other activities with help of orphanage staff

 

Short-term program available at: (4-12 weeks) • Jaipur Long-term program available at: (4 months - 12 months) • Jaipur Popular with students and families during summer, winter, and spring breaks. Adventurers and retirees may join programs year-round. Group Programs: Universities, Schools, Corporate, Youth Groups, Spiritual Organizations Create your own customized Group Volunteer Programs. Qualification: The only qualification of our volunteers is that you come motivated to help needy people. We happily accommodate singles, couples and groups. If you are comfortable with your level of English, it's probably good enough. Age Limit: Participants on the program may be minimum 16 years old.
